Marketing Events & Project Assistant

Job Description

Reports to:  Team Distribution and Marketing Manager

FLSA:  Non-Exempt

Hours:  Full-Time; 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (flexible evening schedule)

Position Summary:

This position plays a key role in keeping the department organized and running effectively. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to quickly learn department processes and the requirements of their role on the team, stay organized under competing priorities, and efficiently perform their duties.

Key Responsibilities:

EVENT SUPPORT:

  • Create, update and maintain events calendar for Marketing Department
  • Assist with event planning, including: contact venues and vendors for pricing, source promotional items and marketing materials, place orders, maintain active follow up to meet deadlines
  • Help with events accounting
  • Create and maintain detailed steps and action spreadsheets for events
  • Pack, stage and ship, as necessary, ALL materials needed for event(s)
  • Attend events and assist with all aspects of event(s)
  • Suggest creative marketing, advertising ideas to get maximum participation in events

ASSIGNMENTS:

  • Responsible for the coordination of Team Horner’s clothing orders and business cards online marketing systems and promotional items
  • Coordinate the creation, order and delivery of business cards to team members
  • Create Team Horner marketing support material, including for Color Me Healthy
  • Provide various administrative functions for the Outdoor Living Funding program

MARKETING DEPARTMENT SUPPORT AND MISCELLANEOUS:

  • Answer Marketing Hotline
  • Attend and participate in team meetings
  • Create, track and close projects in Sales Force
  • Scan and reconcile receipts and reconcile AmEx
  • Learn and assist as backup HornerXpress Marketing Coordinator
  • Provide support to entire Marketing Department as needed
  • Periodically update social media
  • Monitor Team Horner website for needed updates and discuss with Marketing Manager
  • Responsible for receiving and dispatching mail
  • Organize and maintain supplies in Marketing storage rooms 
  • Maintain information database
  • Produce and maintain mailing lists
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience

2-3 years of marketing experience

Required Education

Education & Training:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or any other related field preferred, or combination of relevant education plus 2-3 years of marketing experience.
